Ahh, it's been so busy. After inktober I took about a week off from drawing. I've been back at it focusing on my Bunny Cafe project. It's always ended up taking a backseat for one reason or another. I've actually made some decent progress though over the past week.
First off, while I originally planned on doing pixel art I have moved on to digital painting. It's just what I'm interested in focusing on at the moment. I had gotten an iPad earlier this year, so I downloaded Procreate. Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of it. The workflow is a bit tedious. I also miss the super smooth and customizable brush blending of SAI. But, my Surface Pro 6 is getting old and there are some usablility issues with SAI as well, which is a true desktop application and suited as such. Since Procreate was developed specifically for a tablet it seemed worth checking out. After my first completed painting I feel I have a pretty good handle on it.
So, onto Bun Cafe progress. I have 3 pieces completed out of my 6 piece goal. I feel pretty confident I can complete the last 3 in the next week or two. That just leaves the website portion to do. After a lot of thought, I decided I'm going to make it an actual storefront. I don't wish for it to be confusing, so it just make sense to go all the way with it. I have time to figure out all the logistics. Since I'm switching to digital art, the items on offer will be prints of each Bun Cafe item. Maybe stickers? The profits of each sale will be fully donated to rabbit resuce. This will be a limited run to test the waters. Hard to say if it will get any attention at all tbh, since no one knows my project exists and I'm piss poor at navigating social media. I'd like for it to be fairly successful. Means I could dedicate time to creating a new bunny series every quarter for a donation sale. Here's to hoping it might work out.
